Mother Of ‘Affluenza Teen’ Ethan Couch Returned To U.S. — In Handcuffs
The “affluenza” teen saga continues! The mother of fugitive Ethan Couch has been returned to the United States — without her son.
Outfitted in a pair of handcuffs, Tonya Couch, 48, was taken into custody early Thursday morning, after arriving at Los Angeles’ international airport.
Video footage captured the disgraced mother averting her eyes as authorities led her to an unmarked vehicle upon arrival.
Meanwhile, son Ethan, 18, who famously avoided jail time for a deadly drunk driving accident by claiming “affluenza” (wealthy entitlement clouding his judgment), remains in Mexico after a judge issued an injunction that temporarily prevented deportation .

As Radar previously reported, the duo was caught in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after Couch’s mother made the mistake of using her cell phone to order Domino’s Pizza .
It wasn’t long before authorities arrived on their doorstep and took the pair into custody.
Though Tonya Couch does not currently face any charges, prosecutors threatened to file “hindering apprehension” charges against her and pushed to have Ethan Couch tried as an adult .
