Gracefully aging and looking for an everyday makeup tutorial to enhance your features? Let’s face it, aging is something most women dread about. It’s a natural process we should learn to embrace, but a little natural everyday makeup never hurt anyone. For those who are in their late 30s or 40s, wearing makeup and practicing good skin regimen is very much recommended, especially if you want to look your best. If you’re a mature woman, your skin has probably already started to show signs of aging through fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Aside from the right skincare routine, a fresh makeup-look perfect for everyday wear can take years off your face, giving you the confidence you need (and already have) to take on a new day!

Everyday Makeup Tutorial For a Younger You

How to Look Younger With Makeup

Many women fear the appearance of aging and who wouldn’t? We age differently — some women might develop wrinkles and fine lines early on while others might have these later in their lives. It all depends on the genes, skincare practices , and how they take care of their skin.

There are many ways to reduce these signs of aging. At my age, I can still probably get away with wearing dark smokey eyes often. However, let say 5-10 years from now that may not be a good idea. I’m not here to discuss the actual skincare solutions to getting younger skin. What I’m here for is to discuss what you can do to make you look younger fast and easy. Here’s an everyday makeup look that will surely make you look younger, fresher, and more beautiful.

What You’ll Need for This Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Before even thinking about applying your makeup, make sure your face is clean and dry. To prep your face, here are the recommended products: sunblock, facial moisturizing lotion, Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum Check out Everyday Makeup Tutorial For Mature Women at https://makeuptutorials.com/everyday-makeup-tutorial-for-mature-older-women/, Clearasil Treatment Cream Check out Everyday Makeup Tutorial For Mature Women at https://makeuptutorials.com/everyday-makeup-tutorial-for-mature-older-women/ (for pimples), and a Vitamin C serum. These products will keep your skin hydrated underneath the makeup as well as protect your face from the sun’s harmful rays. Here’s the list of makeup items to be used:

Reminder: You don’t have to use all the products mentioned above, I just want you to see the actual products used in this tutorial. Here are the steps for this everyday makeup tutorial:

Step 1: Apply Your Eyelid Primer

After you’ve prepped your face, you can start your everyday look with an eyelid primer. Pick a primer with a dry and matte finish to prevent the eyelids from becoming oily and sticking to one another (creating a “hooded” eye). Apply your eyelid primer from the lashline to the browline.

Step 2: Apply Your Concealer Under Your Eyes

If you have dark circles or bags under your eyes, this would be the time you would apply your concealer. When applying concealer, be sure to only apply on the inner corners of the eye as applying it underneath the entire eye will emphasize your wrinkles, making them more pronounced. After you’ve finished applying concealer on your eyes, feel free to conceal your pimples, blemishes, or any other areas you feel need concealing.

Step 3: It’s Time to Apply Your Eyeshadow

It’s eyeshadow time! Pick a nude eyeshadow palette Check out Everyday Makeup Tutorial For Mature Women at https://makeuptutorials.com/everyday-makeup-tutorial-for-mature-older-women/ with a matte finish. To start, pick the lightest color from the palette (preferably an off-white color, but choose the lightest color that fits your skin tone) and apply on the lid and below the eyebrow (as a highlighter).

Step 4: Apply the Next Lightest Eyeshadow Color Below the Arch of Your Eyebrows

Now choose the next lightest color in the palette and apply just below the arch of your eyebrows. Apply in an up and down motion while pulling the color down to the crease. Avoid using any bright, unnatural colors as this will emphasize your wrinkles.

Step 5: Apply the Darker Shade on the Outer Part of Your Lid

The last color you will use will be a darker shade, such as gray or dark brown. Apply this color on the outer part of your lid in a pressing (patting) motion.

Step 6: Blend the Colors With an Eyeshadow Brush

Blend the three colors you have applied with an eyeshadow brush. When blending, be sure to blend upwards in order to avoid pulling the skin around your eye, which is the most fragile on your body.

Step 7: Apply Your Eyeliner

When it comes to applying eyeliner, your best bet would be one in either brown or gray as black can look too harsh for mature women. If using eyeliner, start with a lighter shade and line the lower lash line.

Step 8: Apply a Darker Shade on Your Upper Lash Line

If applying eyeliner to the upper lash line go with a darker shade of gray or brown (depending on the color used on your lower lash line).

Step 9: Apply Your Mascara

Now it’s time for mascara! Mascara will open up your eyes, creating a wide-awake, vibrant look.

Step 10: Apply Your Foundation

We’re almost nearing the end! Now it’s time to apply your foundation. You can start by applying foundation on areas you want to further conceal. After you’ve tackled those areas, use a powder foundation brush and apply your makeup all over your face with a swirl in and out motion (you can see how it’s done in the video below). If you have dry skin, it’s probably best to avoid powder foundation, so explore different liquid or cream-based ones that will moisturize and hydrate your skin.

Step 11: Contour!

Light contouring will also be helpful in defining cheekbones and highlighting your facial structure. Apply bronzer below your cheekbones, and on the jawbone and temples. After applying bronzer, apply blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Step 12: Apply Your Lipstick

When choosing a lipstick color, go with either nude or light pink shades. It’s up to you whether you want a matte or glossy finish, but please note that a dab of lip gloss to the middle of your upper lip will give them a plump, youthful look and is often recommended for middle-aged women.
